Most people who book a companion on Mykonos are not staying in a hotel. They are in a villa above Ornos, or on the hillside behind Agios Ioannis, or somewhere out past Ano Mera with a gate, a gravel drive and no neighbours in sight. Villa bookings are the island’s default, and they work differently from a hotel visit in almost every practical respect — the arrival, the timing, the privacy, and what you need to tell us in advance.

Why villa bookings are the island’s default

Mykonos has a smaller stock of large hotels than its reputation suggests. What it has instead is an enormous inventory of private villas, from three-bedroom houses rented for a week to compounds with staff, a pool deck and a view over the Aegean. For anyone travelling as a group, or anyone who simply wants to be somewhere that is theirs for the week, a villa is the obvious choice — and it is also, by a wide margin, the easiest place to receive a guest discreetly.

Privacy a hotel cannot offer

In a hotel, an arriving guest walks through a lobby, past a desk, into a lift. Most hotels on Mykonos are entirely relaxed about this, but there is no version of it that is genuinely invisible. A villa has no lobby. There is a gate, a door and nobody who has any reason to record who came through it. If discretion is a priority for you, a villa is the setting that gives you the most of it with the least effort.

A villa also removes the clock pressure that hotel rooms tend to create. There is space to sit, have a drink, talk for half an hour before anything else. Bookings at villas run longer than hotel bookings for exactly this reason, and they tend to be the more relaxed of the two.

Where the villa clusters are

Villa rentals concentrate in a handful of areas, and knowing which one you are in helps us give you an accurate arrival time:

• Ornos and Agios Ioannis — the closest villa belt to Mykonos Town, on the west side. Ten to fifteen minutes from Chora.
• Psarou, Platis Gialos and Paraga — the south coast, above the beaches. Fifteen to twenty minutes.
• Tourlos, Agios Stefanos and Houlakia — north of town, near the new port. Ten to twenty minutes.
• Ano Mera and the interior — the quietest and largest properties, and the longest drive. Twenty-five to thirty-five minutes.
• Elia, Kalafatis and the east coast — remote and beautiful, and a genuine drive. Thirty minutes or more from Chora.

Mykonos is a small island that takes a surprisingly long time to cross. The roads are narrow, they are busy in August, and a distance that looks like ten minutes on a map is often twenty-five. Building this into the plan is the single biggest thing that makes a villa booking run smoothly.

How a villa visit is arranged

Address, gate codes and arrival

Villas on Mykonos are notoriously hard to find. Many have no street address in any conventional sense, signage is minimal, and the same dirt track can serve six properties. What works is a pinned location — a map link sent when you book — plus the gate code if there is one, and the name the property is listed under.

We ask for this at the point of booking rather than on the night. It is not curiosity; it is the difference between a companion arriving at the time you agreed and a driver circling a hillside in the dark. If you do not have the pin to hand, the villa’s rental listing almost always has one.

Drivers and transfers

Companions travel by private driver. You do not need to arrange transport, collect anyone, or send a car. The driver waits or returns at the end of the booking, depending on the length.

For remote properties — the east coast, the far interior — the drive is a real component of the booking, and a longer minimum booking usually applies. We will tell you this when you enquire rather than after.

Multi-hour and full-evening bookings

One hour at a villa forty minutes from town rarely makes sense for anyone. Most villa bookings run two hours or more, and a great many run as a full evening or overnight. If you are in a remote property, plan for a longer booking from the outset — it is better value and a far better experience than a compressed visit built around a return drive.

Discretion inside a shared villa

Groups and house guests

A lot of Mykonos villas are shared by six or eight people. That is completely normal and not a problem, but it does need to be mentioned when you book. A companion arriving expecting a quiet evening and finding a party is a bad outcome for everyone; a companion who knows in advance that there are other guests in the house can plan for it.

If you want a genuinely private booking within a shared villa, tell us which part of the property you will be in and whether there is a separate entrance. Many villas have a guest annexe or a lower level with its own door, and that solves the problem entirely.

Staff, cleaners and caretakers

Larger villas come with staff — a caretaker who appears in the morning, a cleaner, sometimes a cook. They keep their own hours and they are, almost without exception, entirely uninterested in their guests’ private lives. Still, if you would rather a booking did not overlap with the morning cleaning, tell us the times staff are on site and we will work around them.

Rates and what is included

Hourly, evening and overnight

Rates are published on each companion’s profile and start from around €120–150 per hour, rising by companion and by booking type. Evening bookings, which typically run four to six hours, and overnight bookings are priced as a block rather than by the hour, and both work out better per hour than a short visit.

The rate covers a companion’s time and company. Nothing beyond that is implied, promised or negotiated by us, and anything that happens between consenting adults is a private matter between them.

Travel time across the island

For properties within roughly fifteen minutes of Mykonos Town, no travel supplement applies. Beyond that, a supplement or an extended minimum booking may apply depending on distance and the time of day — a 3am return from Kalafatis is a different proposition from a 9pm arrival in Ornos. We quote this up front, every time, before you commit to anything.

Booking a villa visit properly

The bookings that go well share the same handful of characteristics. Send the location pin when you enquire, not later. Give a real time window rather than “sometime this evening”. Say how many people are in the house. Say roughly how long you want. And if you are booking for a specific night in August, do it days ahead rather than hours — the island’s supply of everything, companions included, is finite in the first three weeks of that month.

Common questions

Can a companion come to my villa?

Yes. Villa outcall is the most common booking type on Mykonos and we cover the entire island, from Ornos and Psarou through to Ano Mera, Elia and Kalafatis. All we need is an accurate location and a time.

Do you need the exact address?

We need a map pin, and a gate code if the property has one. A street address on its own is often not enough on Mykonos, where many villas are on unnamed tracks. The map link from your rental confirmation is ideal.

Is there a travel charge to remote villas?

For properties beyond about fifteen minutes from Mykonos Town, either a travel supplement or a longer minimum booking applies, depending on the distance and the hour. It is always quoted before you confirm — there are no charges added afterwards.

Can I book for more than one guest?

Yes, group bookings at villas are common and we can arrange more than one companion for the same property. Group bookings need more notice than single bookings, particularly in July and August, so give us as much warning as you can.

How much notice do you need for a villa booking?

In the shoulder season, a few hours is usually enough. In the first three weeks of August, plan on a day or more for a specific companion, and longer for a group. Remote properties always need more notice than Ornos or Chora simply because of the drive.

What happens if my plans change on the night?

Tell us as early as you can and we will move the booking if we are able to. Late changes are harder in peak season because a companion’s evening may already be committed elsewhere, but we would always rather reschedule than have a booking go wrong.
